Haunted Nightmare Harvest

Today’s blog is quick review on a Haunted Nightmare Harvest tour in the historic Workhouse Art Center commonly known as the “Lorton Prison”. Of course, it is super fun to go on a Halloween-themed haunted walkthrough tour of this place.

Details of Haunted Nightmare Harvest Tour

The Workhouse Arts Center is located at 9518 Workhouse Road in Lorton, VA. The tour I’m blogging was on a Saturday night. The price is $30 per person and you can buy tickets online. The tours are from 7 to 11 p.m. The prison compound is on 55-acres with historic buildings. I’ve, also, read online that Jeff Keeling is the designer of this attraction and has a lot of experience designing “haunted” areas.

Without giving away too many details, in case you haven’t toured it yet, it was a creepy Halloween fun experience.

First of all, there is a punk rock band playing in the center of the workhouse prison yard. So take a few minutes to enjoy the musical experience.

The tour starts at the back of prison and then progresses through a work house area. It takes you on a trek through the haunted garden and ends up at a dark loading dock.

Be ready to make your way through smoky or foggy areas with nightmarish characters along the way. Expect loud noises and light lasers. The character actors are super creepy and might even crawl after you.

Ending Notes

In conclusion, our “haunted prison” tour gets a great mark from our roving traveler.

He totally enjoyed the walk-through experience, multiple scenes, and creepy characters. Plus, the workhouse prison historical buildings are scary even in the light of day.

Happy Halloween!
