Happy Easter, 2022, and so began our Easter week when, a couple of very small bunnies ran out of the tall grasses they were hiding in, fortunately, missing the lawn mower’s blade. The person operating the lawn mower was able to stop in time so the bunnies could dash away.
Saving those small bunnies, I think is a good spring omen.
Today, it is Easter 2022, and I will soon serve my Easter meal so let’s talk about the table centerpiece, the menu items and my Easter holiday.
Table Decorations for Happy Easter, 2022 Blog
I’m using a green and white table cloth along with a flowered print short table runner.
The largest Easter basket on the display log holds green Easter grass, a large shiny purple bunny and various eggs.
The bunny was a half-price purchase at a church charity shop so it was only $1.50. It does have a few condition issues but it sure looks cute in that basket. The purple mercury glass bunny might be a vintage item from Dept. 56 but I’m not sure about this. The bunny, made from glass, looks similar to Christmas bulbs.
The smaller vintage aluminum basket contains white Easter grass and a small white bunny who looks like he is hiding behind the eggs. It reminds me of those bunnies hiding in my yard.
Lastly, another white bunny, a small dish of eggs and a couple of faux eggs finish the table look.
Easter Menu
So let’s blog a little about the Happy Easter, 2022 menu which is as follows.
Because it is Easter, we have two side dishes containing eggs.
- Smithfield Smoked Ham
- Mashed Red Skin Potatoes
- Fresh Broccoli
- Relish Tray with Carrots, Organic Celery, Red Pepper and Cucumber Slices
- Deviled Eggs with Smoked Applewood Uncured Bacon
- Pickled Eggs with Red Beets and Onions
- Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
- Sparkling Rose Grape Juice Cocktail, iced tea, and coffee
Smoked Ham
The ham was delicious!
Red Beet and Onion Pickled Eggs
The beet and onion pickled eggs are a nice Easter side dish.
Deviled Eggs with Bacon
Nothing tastes better than bacon and eggs. Of course, the eggs served today were of the deviled variety. The crispy bacon tops the eggs.
Easy Easter Cake Decorations
We have a store bought Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting for dessert. However, the top of the cake is very plain.
To elevate the cake to a fun and festive Easter dessert, I first cut apart some marshmallow candy bunnies and chicks.
The second step is to break down some wooden skewers and gently push the skewers into the marshmallow candy.
The last step is to decorate the top of a cake anyway you like. Children also like to help with this easy project.
You can cut or break the skewers to the appropriate size.
Three candy eggs also went on the cake’s top.
