What says summer more than a great BBQ meal at HammerDown BBQ on John Mosby Highway in Aldie, VA.
This weekend we invited our friends to come with us to sample some of their BBQ for lunch. That was first time any of us ate there. It’s a little bit of drive for us, but it was a nice day to take a road trip with friends.

On looking on their website, I noted that the owner is a first generation American and a US Marine. He started small with a towed mobile BBQ unit, then upgraded to an old food truck and finally to his present location in a old tea house.
To remodel the Aldie location, he used recycled barn lumber and added unique accents like a rusty soda machine, pig statues, etc.
This old rusty soda machine is located near the front door.
There is also outdoor and indoor seating available.
Our BBQ Meal
The menu included freshly prepared sliced brisket, chopped beef, pulled pork chicken or smoked sausage. They have a variety of side dishes such as coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad, mac & cheese, and seasonal greens. Lastly, beverages included assorted sodas, and craft beer.
I ordered a brisket sandwich and potato salad. The meat was tasty and tender, and the bun super fresh. In fact, I really enjoyed the whole meal and I can see why they have so many customers during the lunch hour.
My neighbor went back for additional meat and a banana pudding for dessert.

Ending Notes
HammerDown BBQ is a place to have a great BBQ meal. I also enjoyed sitting outside and the fresh air. It’s a casual dining atmosphere, so you can come as you are.
A Big Thank You to the Gentleman Grilling the Chicken at HammerDown who allowed me to take outside photographs of the restaurant. Also, I’m giving a nod to A New View in Ashburn, VA a store offering one-of-a kind home decorating items.
