Halloween Memories

So, it is Halloween and I’m still at the computer blogging away about Halloween Memories. Who doesn’t love a good old stroll down memory lane complete with Jack-o-Lanterns?

Every year I would throw a Halloween-themed party. To start with, I had a bunch of little kiddos all dressed up in their scariest Halloween costumes running around my place. When I first started out things were small but gradually the party grew. I could no longer make my spider web cake out of a box but had to order a sheet cake. I remember having to clean every inch of the place because one year I found two little boys hiding under the bed.

Halloween Games

There were lots of fun Halloween games we would play. One Game was to toss “dragon eggs” water balloons at a target. I filled up a large plastic caldron with premade water balloons and, of course, the game was held outside. One year I had a “haunted garden tour.” A spider “expert” talked about the giant spiders in my yard. Of course, the spiders were all fake and way too large to be real, but I think the kids got a kick out of it. I also filled one box with some grapes and another box with cooked spaghetti for our party goers to put their hands in and feel the “eyeballs” and “worms”.

This large plastic cauldron was recently donated to a local park for their Halloween event. I’m probably not going to make any more dragon eggs.

More Halloween Memories of Fun Games

And who doesn’t love the Mummy Game when participants race to wrap their team member up with a roll of toilet paper. That was a quick game, but fun. There was always the balloon stomp where everyone got a balloon tied on their ankle and everyone tried to break each other’s balloon. For an adult-themed Halloween party, we had a talent show and the winners of the show, (dancers), received a glass pumpkin filled with candy.

Halloween Memories & the Good-Bye Treat Bag

Everyone who came to the party, got a take home bag of treats. This included both toy items and candy. At this point, who needs extra candy? It was always fun making up the gift bags. But you needed to start early because if you waited too long then all the cute Halloween items would be gone. There was usually a Halloween ring and plastic pumpkin included in each bag.

Ending Notes on Halloween Blog

Talking about Halloween memories brings back a lot of good times, but we all know things change over the years.

I have four bag of Halloween candy ready for tonight’s trick-or-treaters. So, let the day be over, and the night be filled with those scary things that go bump in the night.
