Guest Blogger on the Ghost Town Trail in Pennsylvania
Today we have a guest blogger from the state of Pennsylvania blogging on the Ghost Town Trail in Pennsylvania.
Below is Trail Diva’s Blog entitled, “Walking Story”.
I love to walk and fortunately live near the Ghost Town Trail in Pennsylvania. It is a beautiful trail with many different types of trees, plants, and wild life. The soothing sounds of a small river below the trail is also a treat.
For about 20 years, I have been walking this trail and never grow tired of it since there is always something new to see or experience. My sister and I usually go together and we see other people walking their dogs, runners, and bikers. In the winter, there are cross-country skiers and in the summer people are fishing and kayaking.
Walking is good for the body and soul, I always feel refreshed after a walk. Remember to put on your sunscreen and shades, and grab a friend for company. I’m sure you will have an enjoyable day.

The Ghost Town Trail stretches 36 miles and is a National Recreation Trail.
The trail goes through Wehrum. When coal mining declined in the 1930’s, the town was abandoned. Of the over 200 homes in the town, little remains other than a bank vault and a graveyard.
