Going to the Movies!

Boy, oh boy, how exciting going to the movies! Today, I’m commenting on a couple of movies. I rarely give out movie reviews, but I’m making a exception.

The first movie, Top Gun: Maverick, I didn’t actually see, but it is such a big blockbuster in our town that I need to give it a shout out.

The line to get in the movie theater was out the door and down the hall. Frankly, our video technical director has never seen a movie line that long.

He said the film was fantastic! The ticket for seeing the movie was $28 a person, but they also gave you a Top Gun: Maverick mini-movie poster and a Top Gun: Maverick pin.

Top Gun: Maverick Movie

Everyone loves the original story of Top Gun. All the guys want to be the flying ace Maverick, (Tom Cruise). All the gals love him because he’s a hot shot, cute, witty, and a risk taker.

The story picks up years later with Maverick still being in the military service and retaining the title of one the Navy’s top aviators. Actually, Maverick doesn’t look like he has aged much either.

There is, also, the side story line of Rooster who apparently is the son of Lt. Nick Braverman or Goose who died in that tragic plane crash. Rooster is following his father’s foot steps and is also a Naval air flyer.

That’s about all I can tell you about the film, without giving it all away.

So watch Tom Cruise’s mega-star smile and see what the Danger Zone holds this time.

Going to the Movies – Lost at Gate C

Today was, also, the showing of some of the videos in competition for the Washington, DC, 48-Hour Film Project for 2022.

I’m commenting on one of the 7-minute films entitled Lost at Gate C with a horror genre.

The story beings on a seemingly normal trip to the airport. Our protagonist, however, becomes lost looking for his flight at Gate C. We have all been there and done that.

Then we begin to get hints that something is amiss and as our protagonist enters an altered reality zone. He meets a trio of creepy characters on the way to Gate C. Our traveler, also, carries with him an old family heirloom bowl. But as the film goes on, we learn the strange bowl has powers and a mind of its own. The bowl seems to be set for retribution as the tingling noise increases.

So will our traveler ever find his way to Gate C? Watch the film to find out.

Ending Notes on Going to the Movies Blog

I want to thank my readers for allowing me to blog about these two movies, and I encourage everyone to see them.
