Friday the 13th

OK, nothing bad really happens on Friday the 13th; that’s only an old tale, right? So, I’m thinking I have nothing unlucky to blog about, right?

No, absolutely not, there was an element of bad luck to my day. It all started early when I told my significant other, twice, to leave the health debit card on the dining room table since I was picking up a prescription.

After showering and dressing I was ready to start my day. I grabbed my hat, sunglasses and purse and rushed out the door to my local drug store.

My Friday the 13th Shopping Trip

My first issue was that I was in the center lane and not the far-right hand lane for my turn. Traffic was heavy so, whoops, I missed my turn. I then turned around in a local park and shopping area and headed back to the drug store.

When I got to the parking lot of the drug store, there was another whoops, I forgot to pick up my health debit card on the table. Should I go back for it. No, I’m already here so I’ll have to use it next time.

After waiting for a short time in line, one person was ahead of me, I asked for my prescription. Sorry, the pills were ordered, and they are not in yet. I called this some time ago so I’m thinking this is strange. Anyway, she told to come back Monday, late in the day. Or better yet, call before I came in.

OK, I still need a Father’s Day card, so the trip was not a complete waste of time. Wow, it looks like most of the Father’s Day cards have been picked over and there are only a few remaining. Humm, I’m not buying the ones for $7 or $8 dollars; that’s kind of expensive for me. Here’s a cute one with the word Papa on it along with a brown bear. My significant other will think it cute, right? No not really but I bought it anyway. He’ll just have to love it.

When I get to cash register to pay for it, I note a coupon deal but when I go to ask about it, the cashier erases the discount, so I pay the full price.

Finally, I’m on my way home. When I get there, I discover the health debit card is not on the dining room table.

I fall asleep on the patio chair under the sun umbrella, so no dinner is made. Anyway, I now have a sun headache and go to be early with no dinner.

Black Cats and Moon Halloween Candy Basket

Ending Comments

In 2025, this is the only Friday the 13 we will experience. That’s a good thing as far as I’m concerned. Really, how was your Friday the 13th?

NOTE: I made the black cat basket, and it is more for Halloween treats than it is for bad luck. Another whoops moment for Farmhouse Magic Blog.
