This weekend, we got together with another couple and had four lunches on Sunday at Ford’s Fish Shack in Ashburn.
What is on the Four Lunches Menu?
First of all, since it was a nice summery day, we decided to eat on their covered patio. Although it was 80 degrees outside, it still felt comfortable to sit outside for the lunch meal.
We had the usual non-alcoholic drinks of unsweetened ice tea and cola.
This photo is of the 3-egg omelette made with crab meat, white cheese and bits of spinach. It is served with round fried potatoes.
For the next dish, I had the flash-fried shrimp roll which was plated with grilled corn on the cob. Fresh corn on the cob is a nice change of pace. I, also enjoyed the remoulade sauce with the shrimp roll. Flash-frying the shrimp is usually fewer calories and it keeps the shrimp tender. It also uses a thinner batter over the shrimp.
This fish dish, is a flash-fried shrimp roll with grilled corn on the cob and thin French Fries. The meal comes with remoulade sauce for the shrimp roll.
This meal was the lunchtime special of grilled Mahi Mahi with Tomatillo Sauce.
I looked up Tomatillo Sauce on the internet. Apparently, it is made with tomatillos, garlic, jalapenos peppers, cilantro and onions. Although tomatillos look like small green tomatoes, they are actually more closely related to gooseberries.
The last of the four lunches, is fried oysters, Cole slaw and thin French Fries.
Ending Notes on Four Lunches at Ford’s
As always, we enjoyed getting together with good friends for a meal at Ford’s Fish Shack.
The service was great, the meal was good and it was a beautiful summer’s day to sit on the outdoor patio.
