Forsythia in Bloom – A Visit to the Garden Center

Early Blooming Forsythia Early Blooming Forsythia

Today’s blog photographs were taken at the garden center of a big box store.

Early blooming plants include the forsythia.

I once had a hedge of forsythia plants which needed constant trimming.  I think the plant is happier when it can spread out preferably in a large space.

The forsythia’s bright yellow blooms are named after William Forsyth a Scottish botanist.

The above photograph shows a grouping of Pink Frost Lenten Rose plants.

I thought they were quite lovely and, of course, they are probably a cold resistant plant being sold this time of year.

The flowers are pink and large making the plant quite showy.
