Today’s blog is a review of a delicious lunch we had yesterday at Ford’s Fish Shack. We decided to meet our friends for lunch yesterday and it turned out to be a wonderful time with friends and great food.
Brief History
Starting in September of 2010 in Ashburn, VA, the restaurant first opened wanting to have a comfortable environment, friendly staff and the freshest fish meals much like up and down the New England coast. There are actually three Ford Fish Shacks now open.
Apparently, they have a commitment to fresh-off-the-hook seafood.
Their web sites states they have a heritage of giving back to the local community.
The restaurant takes reservations which is unusual around the Northern Virginia area.
What’s for Lunch?
Since this is the first time we ate there, we were not sure what to expect but the moment I opened the front door, I could smell the delicious, warm aroma of freshly made seafood.
I ordered a Faroe Island Salmon Salad with marinated and short-smoked salmon, chopped salad with buttermilk tarragon dressing. Absolutely delicious and I enjoyed every bite.
My partner ordered the Spinach and Crab Omelet with white cheddar cheese and came with sliced circular fries. In truth, he said this was the best omelet he ever ate.
Ending Notes on Ford’s Fish Shack
Yes, we would definitely return for another meal. Our dinning partners also enjoyed their meals. At lunch time, every table in the place was taken. Obviously people know a delicious seafood meal when they have one.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: So, where exactly are the Faroe Islands? The Faroe Islands are an archipelago in the North Atlantic autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. (Approximately 260 Kilometers to Rona, Scotland.)
