First Watch in Reston

First Watch Reston

This was our first breakfast visit to the First Watch Reston restaurant. Of course, Sunday tends to be a busy breakfast day for Reston restaurants, so the parking lot was pretty full.

When we arrived, we were told if we didn’t have a table preference, it would be a 5-to-15-minute wait. I actually had my phone out, so I noticed the time and it was only a 4-minute wait. We were seated at smallish table near the bar and kitchen door. This was OK since there were only two in our party.

Near our table was some booth seating. Things were clean and modern. The flooring was a nice warm wooden color.

Our Meal

The first thing the waitress brought us was a cup of coffee each with a small coffee urn so you could pour more as you needed it. The coffee was great tasting with no bitter aftertaste.

The meal arrived on a square plate, and it was full. The over easy eggs had a sprinkling of finely chopped chives or parsley over them. There were ample slices of bacon and home fries. In fact, so many, that I took some home fries and bacon home for lunch. The toast was crispy and buttered which came with some strawberry jam. The jam was not overly sweet and almost tasted homemade.

I totally enjoyed this delicious breakfast, and it looks at good as it tastes.

Other Features

I visited the bathroom after my meal. The place was clean, and stylish without tossed paper towels or other trash on the floor, etc.

I expected with a full restaurant that the bathroom would be a mess, but this was not the case.

I’m also giving extra points for the sleek look of the women’s bathroom. The bathroom’s colors go nicely with the rest of the restaurant.

The soap and paper towel containers were full, the sink was clean, and I liked the warm water I washed my hands with. So often, the public bathrooms use cold water to save money.

If you are dining alone, you can sit at the bar with bright sunlight pouring through the windows. I noticed a couple of people doing this. The last restaurant at this location was dark inside.

Ending Notes on Today’s Breakfast Meal

At the end of the meal, the waitress ran off our tab and handed it to us so we could pay it on the way out. I definitely like this system better than waiting for the busy waitress to pay our tab and bring back our change and receipt.

It was definitely worth it to come and visit the First Watch Reston restaurant. I remarked to the Operations Manager that I was tired of paying a lot of money for meals that were not worth it.

But I highly recommended this new spot First Watch in Reston. I know I’ll be back again.

Thanks again to Bernadette, Operations Manager, for allowing me to take some photos and to blog about her restaurant.
