First Dinner Out in 14 Months – COVID Vaccination Celebration!

Today we celebrated our first dinner out in 14 months. It’s been that long since we have eaten in a restaurant due to the COVID pandemic. We are now fully vaccinated with the COVID vaccine and doing well.

It was a gorgeous sunny day so we wanted to eat outside. However, there was a three and a half hour wait for a table since we did not have reservations. Fortunately, they were very quickly able to find us a table in the outdoor bar area. We took the last open table. It was a very nice table with other dinners spaced apart. Our waitress wore a mask while she waited on us.

We both ordered hickory BBQ chicken with angel hair pasta in a delicious butter/balsamic vinegar sauce.

Our server was very friendly and gave us a paper copy of the menu since we were unable to bring up the menu on our phones.

It was a very enjoyable dinner just relaxing in the gentle sun and beginning to feel free from COVID’s deadly grasp. We gave our waitress a $20 tip because it was great to enjoy life and outdoor dinning again.

The meal was delicious and my dinning companions were witty.

However, keep in mind that it is not over yet with COVID.

One needs to continue to make smart choices and not abandon all smart practices at once. Thus, the disposable blue plastic gloves by the table are a gentle reminder of when things go bad. Stay healthy and have a wonderful day.
