Finishing Up of Faux Food

It was a quiet morning with only the laundry to do, so finishing up of faux food projects was a good thing to get done.

Finishing the Faux Carmel Apples, Meringues, and Chocolate Sheep Cookie

  1. The first thing I am working on is faux caramel apples on wooden sticks. I’ve already added several coats of caramel-looking paint but they still don’t have the level thickness I’m looking for with a candy apple. A few more coats of paint went on the apples.
  2. The faux meringues are totally dry so a couple additional layers of white paint were added.
  3. One faux chocolate sheep cookie was finished.

Everything is now drying on wax paper.

Faux Food looks good enough to eat right?

Farmhouse Museum Visit

When I stop in the farmhouse museum to drop their things off, I have one small repair to do. One plastic peach needs a stem. I removed all the stems from the faux caramel apples when I pushed the sticks in. So now, I have an extra stem which I can add to the peach with a little glue.

It is those kind of details that makes our farmhouse museum what it is.

The below photograph shows green caramel apples, snowy-white meringues, and the back of a chocolate sheep cookie.

All the faux food items will be donated to various museums for their displays.

Faux food is great to use in some historic displays to make things looks realistic.
