Fabulous Faux Food

Fabulous Faux Food

It is a sunny day in my part of the country and while out doing errands I noted several Fabulous Faux Food displays.

As you know, I’m really into faux food since we use at our historic farmhouse. I’m always on the lookout for more and other display ideas. I only like realistic looking faux food. I don’t want an apple or pear that looks like plastic. For me, it has to look like the real deal.

So, coming across these faux food items at Merrifield Garden Center I had to do a double take. Thanks for going that extra mile to give your customers faux food with an air of realism.

What’s on the Fabulous Faux Food Menu?

So below, we have a faux loaf of French bread, wedges of cheese covered with red wax, and a couple of appetizers on wooden cocktail sticks.

The faux items are displayed on a wooden cheese board.

Next is a basket of artichokes. Even up close these artichokes look real. The artichoke’s edges are tipped in purple. This basket full of artichokes would make a great, (long lasting), table centerpiece.

Next are faux rolls, toast, and briar cheese with blackberry topping. The faux toast looks like you could eat it for breakfast.

The faux rolls, toast, and briar cheese are “served” on a silver tray.

Fabulous Fake Food

I actually had to pick up the next item. It is a circular piece of faux briar cheese with raspberry and blackberry topping. The topping gently rolls down over the edges and pools on the bottom of the serving board.

Tomato Shaped Candles

I thought I would add these red tomato shaped candles located in the center of the yellow tray. They are shaped like heirloom tomatoes and look handmade. The candles would look great burning in the kitchen and are priced at $49.99. The red tomato vase is also super cute and very original looking.

Concluding Remarks

In conclusion, it is always nice to get out and do a little shopping on Sundays.

Faux food items are useful in many different settings. At home they make a permanent kitchen or dining room display. In stores or shops, they help sell goods. And, of course, use faux food items for historic displays.

Any time you want a food display to last for a long time, think about using faux food items.

As always, a Huge Thank You to Merrifield Garden Center for allowing me to blog and take photographs of your great Faux Food displays.
