As the last week of August is upon us, I’m thinking about the End of Summer. Of course, I had a million goals to accomplished this summer. However, truthfully, it was a hot summer and I really didn’t get that much done.
I did get some gardening done and, of course, those weeds are a never ending chore around here. The plants became exhausted during this summer heat spell and I’m going to have a replace a plant or two that died. I notice now, when things have slightly cooled off, that a few plants are still trying to bloom. I might try to grow a plant or two from a clipping to see where I get with that. I’ll keep my Readers posted on my gardening growing experiences.
Nor did get around to other chores or paint my front door which has lots of nicks on it.
Last Days of Summer 2024
I’ve decided that I’ve done enough this summer, and I’m going to take it easy. Rest, relax and recharge for the fall season. Plus, I’m going to enjoy the Last Days of Summer.
What didn’t get done now, will be pushed off to cooler fall days.
Right now, I like to read, look at fall catalogs, and drink ice tea on the patio under the sun umbrella. At the end of summer, it’s not too hot or muggy and the bugs start to leave me alone.
Do I have lots to do this fall season? Yes, you bet. Lots of volunteer activities are falling in the Sept. and Oct. months. Let’s see, I’m volunteering at a quarter horse show, a fall harvest event, a cow race and a basset hound get together. Boy, that is a pretty good variety of events, right?
Closing Notes on the End of Summer Blog
Looks like the end of summer is rather a bittersweet time for Farmhouse Magic Blog. I reflect on what I have done and what I need to do yet.
Right now, I am going to enjoy that ice tea, smell the floral scents, and put my feet up on the other patio chair.
Happy Ending to the Summer and I hope by Readers had nice summer vacations, new experiences, and tasty BBQ meals on the grill.
