Chuy's Restaurant

Chuy’s Restaurant

We went out to lunch today and dined at Chuy’s Restaurant which serves authentic Tex-Mex meals.

It is a beautiful day, so we ate on the clean and attractive outdoor patio area.

The restaurant serves such meals as taco salads, burritos, enchiladas, kids meals, and family meals.

Our Order at Chuy’s Restaurant

Generally, we never order the same thing, but today we both ordered the Taco & Cheese Enchilada Combo Meal which came with Mexican rice and refried beans. Justin was our friendly server.

The crispy taco shells and chips were thin and obviously freshly made.

Our meal was fresh, hot and great tasting. The lettuce and tomatoes were also freshly sliced. We enjoyed the whole dinning experience.

We had such a nice time, that we plan to return and bring our friends with us.

The below photograph shows the the basket of freshly made taco chips and hot salsa.

Chuy’s Restaurant’s Great Ideas

Patio Fans

I also thought the fans blowing the patio air around are a great idea.

It does get hot and muggy in the summer in our area of the county.

The patio fans blows the air around to keep the dinners cool and it keeps insects away.

Sanitized Silverware Packets

I also love Chuy’s sanitized silverware packets so the servers never touch any part the serving utensils.

Well Tended Plants in Clean Patio Area

I enjoy a patio when there are well tended plantings around. This Chuy’s Restaurant has well maintained plants and shrubs plus large planters filled to the brim with plants.

The tables also have large umbrellas to keep the sun off.

We actually sat in the “hidden nook” area surrounded by planters.

History of Chuy’s Restaurant Chains

The Chuy’s Tex-Mex Restaurant chain was started in 1982 in the Austin, Texas area.

They wanted a fun and funky place with authentic fresh food.

An interesting fact, is that each Chuy’s Restaurant has an Elvis shrine which is a toss back to the first restaurant. They only had $20 to decorate the place, so an inexpensive velvet painting of Elvis, the King of Rock and Roll, was part of initial décor.

A Special Thank you goes out to the Manager of Chuy’s Tex-Mex Restaurant’s Sterling location for allowing me to take photographs of the outside of the restaurant and to blog about their eatery. I also wanted to thank Justin, our server, who did a great job!
