Christmas Day Celebration

This is a photograph of my Christmas day table setting.

To make the three layered cake stand, I layered three different clear glass footed cakes stands in various sizes on top of each other.

The cookies are easy to make peanut butter cookies dusted with red sugar before baking.

The homemade chocolate candy nuggets are peanuts covered in melted chocolate wafers.  Before the chocolate cured, the clusters were sprinkled with red, green and white sprinkles.

To complete the look, colorful foil wrapped candy was added through out each layer of the cake stand.  The top layer contains a store purchased orange chocolate ball.

The printed red vintage table runner was found in a church resale shop for $3 dollars.  I used the technique of layering the table runners for a bright look.

The red stripped table runner and tablecloth were purchased in Pottery Barn.

Interestingly enough, the red toy wagon was purchased in my neighbor’s yard sale and belonged to her son.  Her son just graduated from college so I’ve had it a long time.

I filled the wagon bed with red poinsettias and bows.

Belgium Waffles and Cooked Apple Slices Belgium Waffles and Cooked Apple Slices

The above photograph shows our holiday breakfast of Belgium waffles served with freshly cooked cinnamon apple slices and hot coffee to wash it all down.

I guess a dab of whipped cream would have been good on the waffles.

The presents are now unwrapped.

On my table on the top most photograph, you will notice the candy tree pops and candy canes in a heavy container with a tree imprint.

The below two photographs shows me making dark chocolate coated candy trees on a stick.

These tree pops are easy to make and set up quickly if you place the tray in the refrigerator for a few minutes.

I like to individually wrap each tree in a plastic bag and tie with a twist wire.

There is, also, a “how to” blog on making this treat on my blog site.

And so ends another holiday season.

I’ve included a photograph of the below ringing bell.

Didn’t someone say something about angels getting wings when bells toll?

This one is for you Mom.  Miss you.
