I had a box of Devil’s food cake mix and decided to make a pan of cake box brownies. Online I saw several photographs of the finished product and it made me want a chocolate treat.
The recipe is easy enough just adding some oil and eggs to the bowl along with the cake mix. I decided to give the brownies a little bit of flavor boost by adding some chocolate chips.

Cake Mix Brownies Taste Test & Comments
Cake mix brownies are easy enough to make and look attractive to serve. The cooled brownies also cut easily in the pan.
For some reason, I think the boxed cake mixes my mother made seemed to be more favorable. Over the years, they probably changed the formula to the cake mixes. Or perhaps it is just wishful thinking of good times on my part.
However, I’m a flavor seeker and wanted a bit more chocolate goodness with my brownies or perhaps the addition of a second flavor. To me, the taste is rather one-dimensional–chocolate.
For now, I’ll keep tweaking the recipe to see if I can find a combination, I like better. So, I’ll keep my Readers posted. But for a quick chocolate treat, this is one way to go.
