Beauty Spot Ghost

Beauty Spot Ghost?

The beauty spot ghost is a perfect blog tale for Halloween time. In fact, yesterday, Farmhouse Magic Blog went to check the situation out in nearby old town Herndon.

Initial Beginnings

As I was reading the online news, I came cross the story about a historic building on Pine Street which was built in about 1900’s. It is not a large building and only measures 1,080 sq. feet with one bathroom.

Initially, the building was sold to Dr. Ben Detwilder, a dentist, who sold it to his brother, Dr. Edwin Detwilder, a medical doctor. Since it was a convenient location, the medical practice was run out of it. That is, until Dr. Detwilder was shot and killed by the family member of a patient. The Wheeler family then had possession of the building. After that, Dr. Finley’s Family Eyecare was operated in the space. Lastly, it became a beauty shop.

During the grand opening of the beauty spot in 1998, they had an open house. An elderly woman who was related to one of the previous owners, remembers playing in the building as a child.

Fast Forward Years

Over the years, some beauty spot customers felt the building had a good vibe to it.

Then one time a daughter brought her mother for an appointment and was sitting in the waiting area. For no apparent reason, she got up and left the building. When later asked why she did this, she reported that a young girl was playing in the foyer. We are assuming that this was an “unnatural sight”. I really do not want to give too much information away on this one.

Field Trip

So, FMB decided to stop in this beauty shop and check out the vibes for myself.

I went up to the glass door handle but it was locked. A lovely gal came to answer the door. I told her briefly that I was blogger and wanted a few outside photos. She gave me three business cards and referred me to the owner.

As of yet, I have not contacted the owner, but perhaps that make this a better story with a tad more Halloween mystery to it.

Ending Notes on the Beauty Spot Ghost Blog

So, I guess you are wondering if I had any strange impressions or feelings about the place. Sorry, nothing seemed amiss to me. I did take a quick glance at the room’s foyer and saw nothing. I also took a real good look at the small wooden porch.

The place seemed welcoming to me but visiting this site is all in a blogger’s day.

For now, buy your Halloween candy early and Happy October.
