Today I met a delightful couple with the true holiday spirit and amazing holiday lights.
Being a person who enjoys seeing holiday decorations, I was scrolling online to see if there were any local holiday light shows.
I actually attended a holiday light show last weekend at a local park to raise money to support the park and their farm animals.
Local Holiday Lights
Interestingly enough, I came across an article about holiday lights. It was about Holly’s tacky Christmas lights in our area. Apparently Holly goes around and selects houses with outstanding light decorations and then posts them on her web site. Please note that tacky doesn’t really mean tacky but it is more of fun moniker.
Holly selected a nearby house on Kettering Drive, which surprised me, so I had to drive by there to check it out. Below are photographs of some of this home’s Christmas decorations.
Holiday Lights & Decorations
The above photograph show a large holiday tree with bulbs of red, blue and white. Also, the tree has a white star on top. The tree has been staked to ground to prevent the winds and weather from toppling it over.
Their display has an unusual pond made out of a blue tarp and lights as shown by the photograph on the right.
Several animals are frolicking around the pond.
The snowman is having a snowball fight.
Many of their unique decorations have been hand painted.
The photograph on the left shows a polar bear family wearing colorful scarves, mittens and hats.
Good Holiday Cheer!
The couple told me that they had the items in storage for the past nine years. They put them up when their children were young. Now their children are grown and they are grandparents.
A neighbor came to them and asked them to put the light show up again because everyone needs a little something right now.
The couple thought about how COVID had disrupted so many lives–no graduations, no proms, no social gatherings and decided why not give others a little bit of holiday cheer?
So with a little help, they were able to create their amazing holiday light show once again.
Their magical display consists of Santa’s workshop, a carousel, an ice skating pond and much more.
Due to the recent high winds and possible snow showers, quite a bit of the display has been wrapped in plastic and weighted down with 2 x 4’s and bricks.
Bad weather is not kind to their display, so it is wrapped up until the weather improves.
Ending Notes on the Amazing Holiday Lights Blog
The couple even invited me back to check out the display when the weather clears up and the lights are back on.
They, also, showed me a photograph of what their display looks like at night.
This cute deer is wearing a red Santa hat.
Until then, I believe I found a selfless couple willing to go that extra mile to put smiles on young children’s faces with their imaginative look at the holiday.
As I was walking away, there are a few tree bulbs on the ground which will need to be rehung. This display is truly a labor of love.
Of course, Farmhouse Magic Blog wonders what will happen if I press the button on this remote control box.
No just kidding.

UPDATE OF 12-30-2021 – I decided to revisit this site to check out the display.
The below two photographs shows a couple of the items that were covered up the last time I visited.
