While looking in the basement, I noticed our Lionel Train Set and thought I would take a few photographs for my blog.

This set was purchased approximately 20 years ago and we generally put it up to run under our Christmas tree.  We tried to add a new train car for several years in a row but it sort of fell out of favor and we haven’t set it up for many years.

This Lionel Train is a Dock Sider 1919 is a ready-to-run 0-27 gauge electric train set.

I noticed what looks to be white guns on the roof of the caboose.

Lionel - The Polar Express Hot Chocolate Car Lionel – The Polar Express Hot Chocolate Car

Lionel – The Polar Express Hot Chocolate Car is probably my favorite piece.  It came with a Polar Express ticket but I guess we must have tossed that out as I don’t see that in the box anymore.  This car also lights up.

I guess I can never ride the Polar Express but I loved the book and movie!

This is Lionel’s Christmas Vat Car with coffee for the North Pole.

Just adorable!

This photograph shows a Lionel – Home for the Holidays Box Car.

The Box Car has a picture of an old time train going by a old white house.

It has metal wheels and axles.

You need to put this one together and it has a manually operated line.

K-Line Freight Car K-Line Freight Car

This is probably the last car we purchased.  We could no longer find Lionel Train Cars in our area, so we purchased a K-Line Car.

This one is a Budweiser Freight Car.

Most of the cars are marked from 8 to Adult.  However, this Budweiser Freight Car is marked for Adults.

This Lionel train set was definitely made with quality in mind.

We enjoyed watching it run around the holiday tree.  I had an uncle who enjoyed model trains.  You’re never too old to enjoy this hobby.

One day perhaps we’ll set it up again.
