The stockings made with bits of yarn from other projects, all come together in one colorful craft project.
Traditional Christmas Stockings
Year ago, her first child received a red and green mini Christmas stocking crocheted by their grandmother.
Apparently, this is a cherished family tradition on her husband’s side of the family.
The stocking was too small to hold many holiday goodies. However, it was handmade and filled with grandmother’s love. So began a holiday tradition.
The photograph on the left shows the original handmade stocking with the green edging.
A Holiday Tradition, Christmas Stockings Continues
This crafter now wants to carry on this tradition. So without using any pattern, she came up with the following two Christmas stockings.
Pink & Purple Mini Stocking
The first stocking is crocheted out of various shades of pink and purple yarn. The top of the stocking has delicate pink edging along with a pink flower bow.
Blue & White Mini Stocking
The second stocking is also of a free form crocheted design made with an assortment of blue, white and green yarns.
Baby’s new stocking will have some dragon buttons, see below.

Finishing the Stockings
One-inch name letter buttons will complete each stocking.
