Goodwill Wedding Dresses – Part 2

Since my Goodwill Wedding Dress blog was so popular, I’ve decided to do a second part.

This time, I have added a few more dresses and details on the subject.

The above photograph shows the current wedding dress on display.  It’s a very pretty lacy dress with cap sleeves.

The Goodwill wedding dresses I looked at were fantastically priced at about $70 each.

This time I did not see any veils, jewelry or shoes to go with any of the wedding dresses.

The above wedding dresses were of different styles, material types and sizes.  It just all depends if you see a dress you like and if it is your size.

You can always get it altered but, of course, that will push up the price some.

This layered wedding dress is by far my favorite.  It is fresh, youthful and elegant at the same time without being overly traditional.  It would also be easy to wear hiding any tummy or hips bulges.

It needs to be washed/dry cleaned and the bottom layers puffed up.

This dress I think would look especially nice with a pearl/rhinestone necklace and a simple veil.

So What Else is New?

This photograph shows a yellow wreath reminding one of spring.  If you look closely this wreath has some small butterflies on it but I think it needs a little something else.

It would be a great base to start with.

If you purchased this wreath, you could always make it your own by adding additional silk flowers, smaller contrasting ribbons,  etc.

The above photograph shows a red and black painted rocking horse.  It almost looks a little like Russian folk art.

I’m not sure if this is to be used for a child’s play room or for decorative purposes.  To me this doesn’t look overly sturdy for children.

However, it would be nice if used as a decorative item with a plant or doll on the seat or something else you wanted to showcase.

These multi colored bubble lights were popular in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

This is not a vintage set.  It is a new box but it is probably safer than the vintage bubble lights.

It goes best on a Christmas tree.  When it is plugged in, the candles begin to bubble and are nice to watch.

This is a high end and very heavy marble topped table.

The marble probably should be resealed but is not stained or chipped.

It has a large earthenware urn on top of it.

I didn’t get a good look at all the table legs, but it looks to be in pretty good shape.

How about a dog tooth brush set?

This is probably a lot cheaper than getting it at a pet store.

Summing Up . . .

If you are a little surprised about the uncommon items in the Goodwill, I was too.

If you are a bride to be, the wedding dresses are a great buy.  The Goodwill always has something unusual and different in their stores plus you are supporting a worthy charity.

Check out their stores frequently and I am sure you will be saving lots of money before long.

So What Did I Buy?

I purchased two new dish towels for a dollar each.  I also purchased this wooden slice server made of acacia wood.  It is nicely made and has three peg legs on the bottom.

I saw this online for approximately $25.  My price $2.99.

This is a nice piece for entertaining.  It would be great in the fall around Thanksgiving to elevate pumpkins or other fall items.  I think it would also be nice for a Halloween display.
