We decided to try a new place in town called Beignets & Brew. They serve traditional French donuts called Beignets. My companion tried one their breakfast croissants with his coffee. Today we only had time for a short coffee break.
Unfortunately, they were out of chicory coffee so my companion had regular hot coffee.
The restaurant also offers an old-fashioned beignet sundae, iced and hot coffees, lattes, smoothies, power fizzies drink, plus more.

The seating area of Beignets & Brew has a black and white tile floor and some pink and white decorative items.

What is a Beignet?
Basically, a beignet is a deep-fried pastry puff made of yeast or choux dough. It is fried and served hot covered with white powdered sugar.
Unlike standard ring donuts, beignets are square or rectangular in shape. They are crisp on the outside, and light and airy in the middle.
Brief History of Beignets
The word basically means “bump” in French. Early French colonists brought the recipe to Louisiana in the 18th Century making the pastry famous in New Orleans.

This usual plant inspired signage in Beignets & Brew seating area contains artificial greenery and a pink sign.
Ending Notes
We enjoyed our short visit to Beignets & Brew.
Also of note is the place sells themed baseball hats and sweatshirts on a rack near the cashier.
I think I am going to try their Beignets the next time I am there.

A Big Thank You to the Employee working the cash register at Beignets & Brew for allowing me to blog and take photographs of there.
In fact, she said other bloggers, media, etc., had been in to check out their new restaurant.
