Well, for my mid-morning snack, I decided to try one of the Lemonade Apples which was in my refrigerator’s fruit crisper.
This was the first time I have seen Lemonade Apples in my local grocery store but apparently, they have been around for several years.
For my snack, I cut the apple in slices and removed the core and seeds.
Taste Test – Lemonade Apples
These apples are medium to large sized. They have an oblong shape and are bright glossy yellow in color with a dark stem.
So, from the name, I thought they would be tart tasting but, in fact, have a balanced nice sweet/tart taste. They certainly are very crisp tasting as I enjoyed them as is.
Other information
This type of apple is native to New Zealand but are, also, grown in Washington state. The apples are a cross between Braeburn and Gala Apples.
These apples can be made into crumbles, donuts, muffins, apple tarts, etc. Also, they can juiced and added to mocktails, sauces, etc.

I totally enjoyed my crisp mid-morning snack of Lemonade Apple slices and would definitely try them again. They were priced at $1.99 a pound at my local grocery store.
I’m thinking it might be nice to cut up another Lemonade Apple to add to my evening meal salad so my family can try it.
