It seems this year I’ve been trying out a few ready mixes such as this Pumpkin Chocolate Chunk Quick Bread.
I was out shopping at Williams Sonoma, one of my favorite kitchenware stores, when I noted a bag of Pumpkin Chocolate Chunk Quick Bread Mix on the sales table. The front of the package said it could be made in under on hour. Boy, that’s perfect as I don’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen baking.
However, warming up the oven actually warms up the house a bit, so I was ready to bake the mix on a cold day.
Making the Pumpkin Chocolate Chunk Quick Bread
I’m thinking this mix is probably pretty popular over the holidays or Thanksgiving. I checked the expiration date, and the mix was still good until next year or 2026. It was, also, on sale marked down from $15.95 to about $9 per bag. We all know Farmhouse Magic Blog, loves a good price, so I purchased one bag.
I wasn’t sure that the flavors of pumpkin and chocolate would go together. I checked out the side of the bag and it stated that the pairing of spiced pumpkin and dark chocolate makes for a premium mix. The bag makes one rich loaf with real pumpkin, buttermilk, semisweet chocolate chunks and sweet spices.
I followed the directions on the back of bag. The mix made one 4-by-8-inch quick bread loaf.
I, also, followed the serving suggestion on the bag making some cream cheese frosting. However, I made small sandwich-like slices of the quick bread then filled the inside with the cream cheese frosting.
I used low fat cream cheese which tasted a little gummy to me, so I would probably use the full fat version the next time I make this quick bread.

Please note the large chunks of dark chocolate in the mix. Right now, it is ready for baking.
Ending Comments on Pumpkin Chocolate Chunk Quick Bread
I loved the large dark chocolate chunks in the mix. The quick bread mix came together quickly. I stored the cooled baked loaf for the next day in an airtight plastic container.
This quick bread tasted very moist and delicious. I would definitely make it again.
The quick bread is baked and is cooling. Please note that I used parchment paper to line the pan. It came out easily and did not stick to the pan.
