Years ago, I remember a cheese, cracker, and meat stick store at the local mall that gave out free food samples to customers. It was a great way to taste something before you bought it. The samples were so tasty, that most times you purchased a little something. That store also offered a variety of mustards, jams and jelly for tasting.
Then, I shopped at a local organic and gourmet grocery store that offered many types of free samples such as cheese, crackers or slices of fresh fruit. These samples were always appreciated.
Today those memories returned as I saw a free sample of Green Tea Roll Cake or the Vert. I actually picked up two samples, one for my self and one for my companion.
Free Medical & Other Samples
I recently visited a doctor’s office which offered a free sample of skin lotion. I’ve also seen free lip balm at a medical testing facility. And, of course, most dentists with a dental cleaning will give you a free toothbrush, dental floss and a mini tube of tooth paste.
I think the best free sample I’ve ever received is a small bottle of Tylenol. At home, I was out of liquid Tylenol yet I had a little person with me who had a fever and chills. The doctor gave me a free sample of liquid Tylenol so I wouldn’t have to wait in a store line to get it. Bless you for something small which tremendously helped me.
Another time at an upscale mall, they were giving away free samples of a hand lotion. I picked up one and went out the store’s front door. Then, a shopper gave me an odd look like I was shoplifting the free sample. No, the sales lady told me that was a free sample.
At a park once, I was with a gal pal and they were giving out free samples of an avocado lotion. Yes, we both picked up a sample or two. However, I really haven’t seen that type of hand lotion again. I don’t remember actually using the free sample.
Free Sample Blog – Ending Remarks
So, I guess you are thinking about that initial free sample of the Green Tea Cake Roll. I’ve never tasted a Green Tea Roll Cake before, so naturally, I was curious about it. I found it to be a delicate sponge-like cake with creamy filling which was not overly sweet. I really enjoyed that free generous sample. It has a sophiscated flavor to it and it went great with my coffee. The cake was actually a light shade of green.
Of course, we all know free samples are a marketing strategy to get a person to purchase something but I see nothing wrong with that.
Enjoy those free samples.
A special thank you to the Paris Baguette Cafe I visited today and for those two free cake samples.
