Happy 4th of July, 2024, to everyone in the USA! It’s only once a year but it always a large celebration around here. Right now, I’m listening to all the fireworks that are going off in my neighborhood. I can actually see some of the fireworks light up the sky while looking out one window of my home.
My 4th of July Day
So, what did we do here in blogdom on the 4th of July? Here’s a quick run down of my day.
I first set up my table with red, white and blue table napkins and a quick flag center piece. I also used my new red and blue star drinking glasses.
These glasses are unusual because they have a star in the bottom of the glass. Half the glasses have a red star and the other have a blue star in the bottom. They are made of plastic so they are good for patio or pool use. They were given to me as a gift from a special person, so thank you.
BBQ Meal
We initially started our BBQ grill only to be quickly rained out. It actually poured rain for at least a good 45 minutes to an hour. That rain was greatly needed as the ground was so dry it was cracked. All the plants and trees are now happy.
As soon as it stopped raining, we tossed hamburgers, sausage, and assorted peppers on the hot grill. Everything cooked quickly.
Sausages were BBQed until lightly brown and juicy.
Red and yellow peppers were BBQed until slightly blackened. We always use this BBQ tray to keep the pepper from falling into the flames.
Ending Notes on 4th of July
In closing, the 4th of July is another anniversary for the USA. One will never know how much it means to me to be an American. So, Happy Birthday USA!
I think back to previous 4th of July celebrations, when we loaded up a child’s little red wagon with fireworks and pulled it back behind the house to light up the evening. Several neighbors would stop by to see the lovely show. Everyone would have a sparkler in their hands. I miss those days, but things move on.
I found this old time USA flag in my holiday decorations and decided to drape it over the front of my china cabinet. It looks festive for the occasion.
So, if you are celebrating today, I hope it’s been a good one.
Everyone Happy 4th of July, 2024! Love that Red, White and Blue!
