I needed some copies made, so I went to my nearby Herndon Fortnightly Library which is located behind the services building for the town.
Interestingly enough to pay your library fines, to make copies, or buy used books one puts their money in this certain machine and presses the buttons on what you want to do. This frees up the librarian to do other things.
This library was built with a nice domed structure and is two plus stories high. This library also has a nice high round ceiling. The bathrooms, meeting rooms, and used books are located on the first level.
The walkways around the library and the town’s greens are made of sturdy looking bricks and there are a few trees. I was wondering how they water the trees. With our hot weather, I think they would need some attention but the trees don’t look water stressed.
I always enjoy visiting the library but find I rarely check out books any more since I have a book tablet.
Our local libraries get donations of books and magazines, which they then sell in used book sales to make money.
I always check out their used book sales for great buys.
If you are going on a trip, it’s nice to take a book from the used book sale with you. That way, if the book gets lost during your trip, then it’s no big deal.
The above photograph show a nice walkway and grassy area. They hold live concerts during the summer months on town’s green. People sit on blankets and enjoy the entertainment.
