Near the top of the shower curtain, I am missing one shower curtain hook and I have tied that area with a piece of ribbon. I don’t like metal hooks since they tend to rust so I am looking for 12 matching plastic hooks. I could also buy 6 matching hooks and just replace every other hook. The key is to have all the hooks look like they match.
The second thing I need to buy is new art work.
I would like to match the art work with the “new” shower curtain colors of gray/blue, salmon and taupe. The art can be handmade, found art, or other. I also don’t want anything too heavy on my wall because should it ever fall, I don’t want it to chip my floor.
What about some matching towels? Using bargain paint to make an accent wall orstatement? Can I do it?
I purchased the shower curtain for $1.50 and will keep you updated on my progress. Feel free to do your own $20 dollar bathroom redecorating challenge.
Blue and White Windmill Hanging PlateI had to move the picture hook down a couple of inches to accommodate it.
New Blue Bath Towels Plastic Shower Curtain HooksIn a big box store, I found two bath towels on sale for $3.99 each. They are a dark royal blue in color and match the colors of the windmill hanging plate. I also purchased a set of 12 clear plastic shower curtain hooks for $2.54 on sale. The towel bar was previously purchased in Pottery Barn.
Grand Total of All Purchased Items for the $20 Bathroom Redecorating Challenge: $22.02
I am slightly over the amount but I love the blue and white windmill plate. I am also thinking about doing “something” with the bathroom mirror but I’m out of money, so I’ll try to think up some inexpensive way to tie the bathroom mirror in with the new decor.

Blue and Off White Towels on Pottery Barn Towel Rack Multi Colored Shower Curtain Purchased for $1.50 and New Art Work Blue Blown Glass Whale$20 Bathroom Remodeling Challenge – Closing Remarks
I have completed the $20 bathroom redecorating challenge in which I spent $22.02. I was slightly over the challenge amount but I think I did a good job.
I was able to find some clear plastic hooks but they fit so poorly, I kept my old ones up and only used one from the new package. Now I’ll probably donate the rest to charity.
I borrowed a couple of ecru colored hand towels from another bathroom to compliment the look of the blue bath towels.
I am still thinking about a bathroom mirror update but I’m out of money to do much, so I’ll have to think about things or use something I already own.
I added a blown glass blue whale that I previously picked up in a junk store to my bathroom’s glass shelf.
If you participated in the $20 bathroom redecorating challenge, drop me a note of your results.
Thanks and remember with a little you can do a lot!
