During my recent visit to the Freeman Store and Museum, I spent quite a bit of time checking out their 1960’s Exhibit.

They had a large variety of objects and information from the 1960’s.

This photograph shows some of the cars from that time.

The 1960’s clothing display was my favorite part of the exhibit.

One of the volunteers pointed out what looked to be a long sleeved top, however, it was actually a mini dress.  There is even a photograph of a lady wearing the dress.

The male mannequin is wearing love beads and bell bottomed blue jeans.  His shirt is tie dyed.  Also notice his long hair style and “granny glasses”.

The below picture shows a red and purple handmade belt.  Hippies of the 1960’s made some of the items they wore.

The 1960’s were turbulent times for the United States–our president was assassinated and the war in Vietnam raged on.

The Freeman Store and Museum has the front page of the newspaper on the day President Kennedy was shot.

Farmhouse Magic Blog remembers that day with my teacher crying and our school closing early sending all the students home.

There was also information on a Chatty Cathy Doll, Easy Bake Oven, and a G.I. Joe action figure.

The Freeman Store and Museum was a nice place to visit and I want to thank everyone for their hospitality.

The staff and volunteers were also helpful and very friendly.

I enjoyed visiting the informative exhibits.

The Freeman Store was groovy!  My visit was far out!
