Tuna and Cream Cheese Ball Recipe

Tuna and cream cheese makes a tasty cheese ball for easy entertaining.  I received this recipe years ago from a co-worker.

I always use tuna packed in oil for the best results.

Ingredients

  • 1 Can of Tuna, 5-ounces, Packed in Oil
  • 8-ounce Bar of Cream Cheese, at Room Temperature
  • 1 Teaspoon of Onion Salt
  • Dried Parsley
  1. Mix and mash the tuna, including the oil, and cream cheese.
  2. Add onion salt and mix well.  If it needs more flavor add an additional teaspoon of onion salt.
  3. Using a spatula, roll the mixture in to a ball and wrap with plastic wrap.  Refrigerate until easy to handle approximately 1-2 hours.  This will allow the flavors to meld together.
  4. After refrigerating, roll the tuna ball in dried parsley or chopped walnuts and place on a serving dish.

I like to serve the tuna ball with soda crackers but whole wheat crackers also work well with this recipe.

Another easy variation of tuna surprise, yum!

Our tuna ball in the photograph is plated on a hand made, light green blown glass plate shaped vaguely like half a clam shell.

The serving spatula is also hand made with blue and red stripped glass beads wired to the handle.

The tablecloth is a round multi-color patterned print from Williams-Sonoma.  It is made of 100% cotton from Moldova.
