I know we are all getting weary and tired about making do but today I noticed while cleaning my bathroom, that my plastic soap dish had come apart.
Try as I might, I was unable to push it back together.
I originally had a very nice white ceramic dish which earlier fell to the floor and broke. A causality of constant hand washing. I replaced it with a plastic soap dish I found under my sink.
With COVID-19, there is no way to buy another $3 dollar plastic soap dish. Besides, I think I can glue this one back together.
I placed all-purpose white household glue on both sides of the plastic soap dish but found it needed to be securely pressed together.

The easiest way to do this is to place the soap dish between two pieces of scrap lumber and press it in a vise. Thankfully, we have lot of scrap wood pieces in the basement.
The vise should hold the glue on the soap dish until it it dry. If you don’t have a vise, try putting something heavy on top it to hold it down.
How long will this repair last? Not sure but hopefully until I can find another soap dish I like.
