Concert and Fireworks

Last night we attended a local concert and fireworks display. Actually, it was a very nice evening, and we enjoyed it.

Because of the fireworks, the event was held in a different part of the station. We had to go down a large flight of steps and cross the street. On our way back, we noted an employee stopped traffic, so we could safely cross. I’m a little slow, so that gets extra points in my book.

The Concert Plus more

The first thing I noted were the bean bag and corn hole games along the sides of the event. They were away from the stage, so children and anyone else could play them.

Even though I sat to the side, I still ended up with a bean bag tossed at my head. LOL, that kind of scared me.

Walking around the event, was a guy dressed up like, I believe, George Washington.

The band was a Bruce Springsteen sound-alike band. They kept things going for the entire evening. Usually, the bands are done by 9 p.m. but this band played on until the fireworks started which was around 9:18 p.m.

The fireworks were my favorite part of the evening. They were shot off from a large nearby building. The sky was aglow as we listened to a popular music selection timed with the fireworks.

Also noted, were two large Clydesdale horses in the back of the event. Everyone could come up and pet them. Of course, they were very friendly and clean looking. I was able to give each a quick pat on the nose.

Ending Blog on Concert and Fireworks

Really, the whole event was well done, and I thank the organizers for the free entertainment.

So, often in this town, everything has a price tag attached to it. It’s nice just to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the event.
