Texas Donuts

Texas Donuts

We were in a mood for a donut, so we decided to take a trip to Texas Donuts in downtown Vienna. According to one of the shop’s workers, the store in Vienna was opened for about a month.

The first thing we noted about the store is the warm and bright looking exterior. It seems to have more light coming from it than some of the other nearby stores. It almost seems to glow.

More About Texas Donuts

I checked the store’s online site and found that their history go back to 2002. This shop makes southern-style donuts. They have locations in Centreville, Manassas, and Lorton.

I wondered why the shop is called Texas Donuts. Sure enough, one the staff told me that they serve a very large donut which is called a Big Texas Donut. The Big Texas Donuts are about four times of the size of a regular donut. The huge donuts are big enough to share with others. Is everything bigger in Texas?

Visiting the Store

We ordered three regular donuts and coffee. The shop does not have tables or chairs to eat at, so we ate our donuts in the car. If you are interested in a quick donut there is a ledge you can stand at.

The Big Texas donuts are, indeed, supersized. In this photograph they are located on the top shelf. You can compare them with the regular sized donuts.

The store sells a variety of different donuts. They, also, sell breakfast sandwiches and specialty donuts.

Taste Testing the Texas Donuts

The donuts were soft and obviously freshly made, yummy. Also, good job with the coffee which was hot and smooth tasting.

Ending Notes

I like this mural wall in the store with all the upbeat language. Look, on the very bottom row they even have the word “Magic”. Farmhouse Magic Blog loves it when someone, also, uses the word “Magic”.

A big thank you to Jean of the Texas Donut shop, in Vienna, who took a few minutes out of his busy schedule to welcome us to the store and give me more information about it.

Also, thanks Jean for allowing me to take photographs and to blog about this new Texas Donut store.
