Holiday Photo Booth

Holiday Photo Booth

OK, it is a rare treat to include a photo of myself on today’s blog, but I couldn’t help it since this Holiday Photo Booth is so cute! Well, it is actually a Holiday Photo Booth area for anybody who wants to take advantage of the photo opportunity.

This actually got me thinking about those old-time photo booths located at train stations and malls. They were made of metal and were about three times the size of a telephone booth. They had short curtains which you pulled over the entrance once you inside the booth. Two or three people could easily fit in for the photos. When you were ready, quarters were added, and a button pressed. The machine would rapidly take about four or five photos. Then you waited a few minutes for the black and brown photos to develop. When done, the machine would shoot out the strip of photos. You could smile or make a silly face. The photos were often kept as mementos. Also, you could cut the photos apart with scissors.

Isn’t it amazing how far photography has progressed over the years? Everyone now has a camera in their phone, and we all love these staged photo shoots.

This garden center’s holiday photo nook area is a warm scene featuring a living room with a comfortable chair, a warm fire, red stockings, a holiday tree and even a tan stuff dog. A few live plants were added to fill out the background.

OK, there wasn’t a line to take a photo, so guess what? Yes, it was time for my yearly photo for my Farmhouse Magic Blog fans, so I sat in the chair with “my best friend” at my feet. Then I snapped a photo. I hope you like it.

All kidding aside, I noticed a few parents snapping their children’s photo in this area of the store.

Complimentary Cookies and Punch

Also of note, every year this particular garden center thanks its shoppers with some free punch and cookies.

The refreshment table is neatly arranged with several glasses of punch on the table.

I was drinking hot coffee, but I picked up a couple of these butter cookies to enjoy.

Holiday Greenery, Wreaths, and Arrangements

Wow, this store still has a great assortment of holiday greenery, wreaths and arrangements. I liked the bright red berries on these two large wreaths.

Ending Notes

All in all, I really enjoyed my trip to the garden center. We, also, purchased needed wood for our fireplace.

Best of all, it was fun to take my photo in the holiday photo area plus enjoy the holiday treat of free coffee and cookies.

A Big Thank You to Merrifield Garden Center for the complimentary punch, cookies and coffee. Also, thank you for allowing me to take photographs and to blog about your garden center.
